Jared Leto seen leaving the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood

Before reading, please note that this post was written yesterday and saved into drafts in the understanding that it would only be posted if the Hive did not reply to my (very polite) email. However, as this was not the case, DSTM feels that the Echelon should know the following (queue ranty post about the Hive/Jared/Tumblr)….
Remember the time that this tweet happened  (https://twitter.com/JaredLeto/status/272153919889743872) - 23rd November 2012? We all had a good laugh. Well, this first time I posted the tweet it got reblogged quite a lot. Someone then added to it “LOL. I laughed out loud when I saw that. And then she changed it to this”
So… the reason why I’m bringing this back to the attention of the Echelon on tumblr is that it has been removed from my blog. Apparently it’s a “copyright infringement”. No joke, this has been removed due to copyright. Hilarious, right???
I got this email yesterday:
“We’ve received a notification of alleged copyright infringement against one of your blogs, sent to us by Lizzy Gonzalez, related to Hello, Authorized agent representing VyRT / THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS / JARED LETO / SISYPHUS CORPORATION requesting the removal of the following content links: http://letophile.tumblr.com/post/36437571033/dir By submitting this notice, I hereby state that I have a good faith belief that the disputed use of the copyrighted material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law (e.g. as a fair use). The post in question was located here, http://letophile.tumblr.com/post/36437571033/dir, and has been removed pursuant to legal requirements and Tumblr’s copyright policies.”
Curious as to what post http://letophile.tumblr.com/post/36437571033/dir was I did some googling and managed to find more and more details on this post until I found out what it was:
But when I clicked on the first two pictures:

It had been removed by the Hive of course. How embarrassing is that? Like we all get that Jared isn’t always happy to talk about how he started out in his career but to get this removed, omg… Shouldn’t the Hive be concentrating on whatever it is they should be doing instead of getting posts removed due to copyright from a fan site? Yes a fan site, I honestly think that Mars forget who support them and who vote for them “until their fingers bleed”. Jared should be way more concerned for his own behaviour of recent; posting someone’s mobile number publicly is surely some sort of breach. Anyway, I just thought I should all let you know what the team behind Mars gets up to. Also, isn’t great that a company can just get a post removed with no big deal but when you have a genuine complaint that you try to get sorted with tumblr then it’s a hassle?
So people of Tumblr, let it be known that apparently you cannot post screenshots/printscreens/screengrabs of public and highly accessible Tweets (apparently). And don’t even THINK about posting an embarrassing picture of a celebrity before they were famous. I can see a lot of posts breaching copyright in the future….Sorry for the rant but I assure you, I wouldn’t be bothering with this post had it not annoyed me so much. There was nothing in that post that breached any kind of copyright -none at all. Just a screen cap of a tweet that you can still access and that young Jared picture. We’ll see if the Hive can get this post removed but in the mean time enjoy your day.

Jared Leto to Receive Breakout Performance Honor at Hollywood Film Awards (Exclusive)

The actor is being recognized for his portrayal, opposite Matthew McConaughey, of a male-to-female transgender in “Dallas Buyers Club,” for which he shed 40 pounds.

Jared Leto, the colorful character actor — and well-known frontman for the popular band 30 Seconds to Mars — will receive the Hollywood Breakout Performance Award for his work in Jean-Marc Vallee's Dallas Buyers Club at the 17th annual Hollywood Film Awards — the first awards show of the 2013 season — on Oct. 21 at the Beverly Hilton, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. (The Hollywood Film Awards is owned by affiliates of THR parent company Guggenheim Partners.)

Previous recipients of the Hollywood Breakout Performance Award include Carey Mulligan,Michael ShannonJoseph Gordon-Levitt andJohn Hawkes.

Leto, 41, has been acting for years. He first rose to prominence on the TV show My So-Called Life(1994-1995), and then transitioned into films, including Steve JamesPrefontaine (1997),Terrence Malick's The Thin Red Line (1998),James Mangold's Girl, Interrupted (1999), DarrenAronofsky's Requiem for a Dream (2000), Fincher’s Panic Room (2002), Mary Harron'sAmerican Psycho (2000), Andrew Niccol's Lord of War (2005) and J.P. Schaefer's Chapter 27 (2007), a Mark David Chapman biopic for which he famously gained 67 pounds.

In Dallas Buyers Club, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month, Leto is virtually unrecognizable as Rayon, a male-to-female transsexual — inspired by a real person — who is diagnosed with AIDS during the early days of the epidemic. Leto’s character becomes an unlikely associate and business partner of Matthew McConaughey's Ron Woodroof, who begins importing and selling non-toxic, anti-viral medications that have not been approved by the FDA but have proven vastly more effective than any that have been. They don’t stop the progression of the deadly plague, but they slow it considerably. (Leto shed 40 pounds to play the part.)

The Hollywood Film Awards are determined by founder and executive director Carlos de Abreu and an advisory committee. Last month, the Hollywood Film Awards and Dick Clark Productions, which also produced the Golden Globe Awards, entered into a partnership that could lead to the ceremony being televised in future years. Over the past 10 years, Hollywood Film Awards honorees went on to garner a total of 96 Oscar nominations and 34 Oscars.

De Abreu tells THR, “Jared’s portrayal of Rayon in Dallas Buyers Club is infused with humanity and bravery, and is nothing short of a revelation. This is an exceptional tour-de-force of acting.”
